Trip Highlights

This 5 day tour is a theatre lover’s dream.   Fly to Toronto on Air Canada and spend 2 nights in charming Niagara on the Lake and 2 nights in lively Stratford. You have tickets for 2 performances at the Shaw Festival in Niagara on the Lake: George Bernard Shaw’s comedy double-bill  “Of Marriage and Men”,  and the musical “oh what a lovely war” and 2 performances at the Stratford Festival,  William Shakespeare’s  “Coriolanus” and Meridith Wilson’s “Music Man”.  A backstage theatre tour and a behind the scenes look at a Costume Warehouse enrich your visit.

Detailed Descriptions

Day One Tuesday, August 21:   

Our tour director meets you at LaGuardia and oversees the program. Your nonstop Air Canada flight to Toronto departs from LaGuardia at 10:10am. On arrival you drive to the charming Victorian village of Niagara-on-the-Lake, You spend 2 nights at to the lovely Queens Landing hotel, located on the harbor front. After dinner you have tickets at the Shaw Festival for the funny and biting iconic World War I musical, “Oh What A Lovely War.” (L/D)

Day Two Wednesday, August 22:   

Morning activities include a Backstage Tour of the Festival Theatre or an optional excursion to Niagara Falls (please note:  the backstage tour is included; the falls tour is not included in the price of the trip). You are free for lunch prior to a matinee performance of George Bernard Shaw’s play,” Of Marriage and Men.”

Day Three Thursday, August 23:  

Enroute to Stratford enjoy a winery tour and lunch at the vineyard.  You spend 2 nights the Festival Inn. You dine as a group before the evening performance of Shakespeare’s, “Coriolanus.”

Day Four Friday, August 24:

Tour the Stratford Festival’s Costume Warehouse to see the work of world-class wardrobe designers, and scenic and prop makers. You have free time before a matinee performance of the classic musical, “The Music Man.” Enjoy dinner tonight in Stratford.  

Day Five Saturday, August 25:

After breakfast you check out of the hotel and travel to charming Village of Kleinburg, approximately a 30 minute drive from the city of Toronto. Here we visit the McMichael Canadian Art Collection a major public gallery uniquely devoted to collecting The Art of Canada. The Callery is situated on 100 acres of forested land along the Humber River. After a tour we will enjoy lunch with a view. You will have free time to explore the sculpture garden and grounds before our departure. This Canadian Arts Tour ends with a nonstop Air Canada flight at 6:15 pm arriving into New York’s LaGuardia airport at 7:43 pm.

We cannot accept responsibility for losses of additional expenses due to delay or changes in air or other causes beyond our control.  All such losses or expenses will have to be borne by the passenger as tour rates provide for arrangements only for the time stated. We reserve the right to make alterations to the itinerary as may be deemed necessary for carrying out the tour. The right is reserved to cancel any tour prior to departure in which case the entire payment will be refunded without further obligation on our parts. The right is reserved to decline, accept, or retain any person as a member of the tour. Baggage is at the owners risk entirely. It is understood that the air ticket when issued shall constitute the sole contract between the passenger and the air company.
